Visit The Dublin Home Transformed Into A Haunted House In Aid of DEBRA This Halloween

The Halloween Crypt in Bayview Court, Killiney, Co. Dublin is the creation of Electrician Ken Carraher, and is open to the public today and tomorrow in aid of DEBRA Ireland.

Ken started building the House of Horrors in his front garden 16 years ago and it has become a Halloween tradition, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

The display raises thousands of euro each year (over €3,000 last year alone) for DEBRA Ireland - a national Irish charity established to provide support services to patients and families living with the debilitating skin condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) - an incurable genetic skin condition which results in severe pain, blistering and internal/external damage.

"I wanted to support a charity that's Irish and works with children, and when you hear about what people with EB have to live with, I'm very glad we can help out," Ken told The Herald.

Crammed with various moving monsters such as ghosts, goblins, witches, skeletons and a cemetery, and full of spooky sound and light effects, the crypt began with just two mannequins Ken found on a scrap heap, but now hosts over €50,000 worth of frightful figures with new additions being made each year.

The crypt is open today (Friday 30th) from 3pm-8pm, and tomorrow (Saturday 31st) from 3pm-9pm.

Expecting over 2,500 visitors this Halloween, Ken asks anyone who stops by to make a donation to DEBRA Ireland at the house, or you can text BUTTERFLY to 50300 to donate €4.
